Genitourinary pathology

The genitourinary pathology service evaluates diseases of the genitourinary system, including kidney, bladder, prostate, testis and penis. We offer tissue diagnosis on all genitourinary diseases, spanning the spectrum from inflammatory conditions to benign neoplasms to malignancies.

Our expertise include interpretation of needle biopsies as well as comprehensive evaluation of surgical resections like needle biopsies of the prostate, radical cystectomy and radical prostatectomy specimens. In addition to the diagnosis, we provide information that enables the urologist to decide on possible additional therapy and overall prognosis.

A broad array of immunohistochemical markers are available and used when appropriate, in conjunction with routine histopathology.
